A Community That Helps Me Grow
When I first joined Minds Matter Philadelphia, I was looking for an experience that would open doors. What I found was something bigger than academics or career prep. Minds Matter gives students real opportunities to grow in multiple directions, including socially and personally, while still keeping college and school support at the center.
What I value most is the way the program pays attention to the whole student. The mentors, directors, and team leaders do not just check boxes. They ask how things are going. They notice when school feels manageable and when it feels stressful. They take time to understand what is happening and what support is needed.
That is why I keep coming back.
In Minds Matter, I do not feel like a stranger trying to fit in. I feel like I matter. The people around me are not hostile or dismissive. They listen. They make space for students to speak honestly. And they make students feel seen and heard.
That sense of support and belonging is what makes Minds Matter different for me, and it is what keeps me committed to the program year after year.
