A Community That Helps Me Grow

I volunteer with Minds Matter Philadelphia because I care deeply about educational equity and helping students reach their full potential. Too often, students do not get consistent access to the mentoring, resources, and encouragement they deserve. Minds Matter helps close that gap in a real, practical way.

What I value most is the community the program creates around students. Minds Matter does not just offer advice. It provides support that students can carry with them into college and beyond. The mentoring is consistent, the resources are meaningful, and the encouragement is steady. That combination helps students build confidence and momentum over time.

I keep coming back because the program works, and because the students inspire me every time. Their drive, resilience, and growth are a reminder of what is possible when young people have a strong network behind them.

Just as importantly, the volunteers, mentors, and staff truly show up for students. That dedication is rare, and it is powerful to be part of a group of people who are committed to doing the work week after week.
