As a mentor, you are paired in a unique “two-on-one” model to provide the social, emotional, and professional scaffolding that helps a student reach their full potential.

Empower scholars by leading structured weekly sessions in writing, math, and critical thinking. As an instructor, you bridge the academic gap, preparing students for the rigors of top-tier university coursework.

Join our unique ‘quad’ mentorship model. You and a co-mentor will provide the social, emotional, and professional scaffolding two scholars need to navigate their three-year journey to college success.

Drive the strategy behind our success. From recruitment to fundraising, our volunteer leadership teams ensure the sustainability and growth of the Minds Matter mission across Philadelphia.

What We Expect

Academics Instructors

At Minds Matter Philadelphia, our Academic Instructors are graduates of four-year universities who play a vital role in bridging the educational gap for our scholars. We require volunteers who can commit to attending our Saturday sessions from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Philadelphia for all or part of the school year.

Mentors

Our Mentors are graduates of four-year universities who serve as vital positive influences and role models for our scholars. We require a commitment to attending our Saturday sessions from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. throughout the school year to provide consistent guidance.
