Our Students

  • ~50 current students from ~15 different high schools
  • Average incoming GPA of 3.5
  • All students qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch
  • Will be (in many cases) the first in their family to attend college
  • Motivated, mature students with a strong work ethic
  • All students that have completed our program have been accepted to a four-year college or university of their choice (e.g. University of Pennsylvania, Howard University, Drexel University, Lehigh University, and Temple University)

Program Information

Minds Matter Philadelphia meets on Saturdays from 10:30am to 2:30pm from September through April each year.Each student is matched with two successful college graduates who will support their mentee throughout sophomore, junior, and senior years of high school. There is no cost for participation and the benefits of the program include:

  • Free ACT Prep
  • Tuition-free attendance at selective pre-college summer programs
  • Guidance and support throughout the college application and financial aid process

Each session will focus on one or more of the following:

  • Growth Mindset
  • Writing / Reading / Math Skills
  • Critical Thinking
  • ACT Prep
  • College Application Preparation
